Hi! My name is Courtney Halpin and I teach 4th grade math and science. This is my seventh year teaching, and my fourth year teaching 4th grade. Previously, I taught 3rd grade in Bryan, TX and 2nd grade here at Chandler. I attended Texas A&M University (WHOOP!), where I majored in interdisciplinary studies. My favorite thing about A&M was the friendly atmosphere and of course the football games. Two years ago, I made the decision to go back to school to pursue a Masters degree in Educational Administration from North Texas University. I am finally nearing the end of this journey as I will graduate in December of this year.
Outside of teaching, I love to read, ,shop, hang out with friends, and most importantly hang out with family. I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have an 8 month old son named Dane. He is our pride and joy and we love capturing every moment we can with him. Our other child is furry with four legs (she is a boxer named Bentli). Dane and Bentli are great friends and are rarely in separate rooms.
I love teaching fourth grade, mostly because I get to teach my favorite subjects, math and science. I believe that all students are capable of learning and it is especially fun to watch their faces “light up” when they learn something new. I am so excited about all of the new learning experiences that fourth grade students will have this year.
