A Little Bit About Me I grew up in Euless, Texas, and graduated from Trinity High School. I went on to get a degree from Texas A&M University in education with a focus on language arts. After graduating college, I got married to a wonderful man named Dean Allen. He was a Captain in the United States Army and a medical evacuation pilot, which allowed us to travel to South Korea, Alabama, and the state of Washington. Currently my husband works for Capitol One in Frisco. My family and I have lived in Allen over 10 years, and I have two beautiful children who also call Marion home! My daughter "graduated" from Marion and is now at Curtis Middle School, and my son is currently a Marion Maverick in sixth grade. I have been at Marion since it opened, and I am excited to now call Cheatham and Marion my homes!
I have had sixteen years of experience in education that span middle school, 6th grade, and 4th grade. I am beginning my 13th school year in Allen and have spent the summer training for the wonderful school year we have ahead of us! I am a certified ESL teacher, G/T teacher, and have dedicated my life to education! I now have a Master’s of Education Administration, and I am working on a Master’s in the Art of Teaching. I am currently venturing in a new church launch in Allen, Living Life Church, and serve as the Education Director for Juntos Servimos, (in English it means Together We Serve). It is a non-profit organization that provides assistance and support to the children/families of extreme poverty in Matamoros, Mexico. My mission is to provide education to those who need it most!
