| ********************************************** Greetings to the 2013-14 Lowery Freshmen Please check the Lowery website for important incoming freshmen information throughout the summer. Mark your calendar! Thursday, August 15, 2013 Lowery will host “Fish Camp”! This will be a chance for you to tour the building and begin the experience of being a freshman! Details will be updated for this and other items throughout the summer. Enjoy your summer and we look forward to seeing each of you in August! - Jill Stafford and the Lowery staff ********************************************** 7th Grade Immunization Records – Summer 2013 Parents of incoming 7th graders may scan and E-MAIL their student’s updated immunization records to the school nurse anytime during the summer: robin_draper@allenisd.org Student’s name and date of birth must be on ALL student immunization records. In addition to previously required immunizations, incoming 7th graders must have proof of a Tdap vaccine received within the past five years, a second varicella vaccine if they have not had chicken pox, and a recent meningococcal vaccine. The nurse will not be working at school during the summer, but immunization records may be updated in the computer periodically. Once the updated immunizations have been entered by an AISD nurse, parents may verify the updated information in Family Access. If you do not see the new immunizations updated in Family Access, it is strongly recommended that you bring a hard copy of your student’s updated immunization record with you to 7th grade schedule pick-up in August. Students will not obtain a class schedule in August until the school nurse verifies that all immunizations are up-to-date. DO NOT FAX or have a physician’s office fax immunization records to the school between the dates of June 7 - August 12, 2013. The fax will not be received. ********************************************** CAFETERIA NEWS You can check your child’s account balance by registering on the website: www.paypams.com. Negative account balances should be paid immediately. If there is a balance in your child’s account, it will stay in the account until next school year, which includes students transferring to a different AISD school. Thank you again, for allowing us to serve your children! ********************************************** A State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing presentation has been posted, as well as, Frequently Asked Questions regarding STAAR and End of Course (EOC) testing at http://www.allenisd.org/Page/14398. If you need to access this information you can also get to this webpage by going to www.allenisd.org, then select: Departments, Assessment, STAAR Information.
