GIRLS GOLF:
The Allen golf
teams have strong outlooks for this season. The boys team
returns 5 varsity members (seniors - Hayden Adams, Michael
Beardshaw, Sam Clark (2008 team, player of the year) and Scott
Manfred (a member of the 2008 all - district team) and junior -
Branden Jennings). The depth and leadership of these returning
players will give this year's team a chance to compete for
tournament honors. A new district brings stronger competition
that will drive the boys in their tournament preparations and
their quest to be a contender in the district competition. The
strength of the girls team is exhibited by the return of the
entire varsity team ( senior - Jackie Myrose, juniors - Samantha
Massei, Courtney Radford and Jessie Robinson, sophomores -
Marissa Dodd, Jessa LaBarbera and Lauren Jackson. All -
district members Dodd, Massei, Myrose and Radford are now
seasoned players and will give this team the experience needed.
A 2008 district runner-up and a 6th place finish at the
regional tournament give the girls a new goal, inspired by the
legacy of their past. Both teams will be given depth by
returning junior varsity players moving up the team ladders to
be contributing members of their respective varsity team.
