Galaxy Press is an in-house publishing center for Anderson Elementary students. Started in January 1998, the Galaxy Press publishes books by authors in grades K - 6.
Students may submit their original stories, poems, plays, etc. to the Galaxy Press office located in the Library. Due to the popularity of this program, we must limit the number of published books to one per student per semester. By doing this, you will be encouraged to submit your best work.
All published work will be available for reading in the Anderson Library. Teachers will be able to check out the books for classroom use.
An author's reception will be held in the spring, to honor you and your literary accomplishment.
Any form of literary work may be submitted to the Galaxy Press. This includes, but is not limited to, short stories, chapter books, poetry, and plays. Manuscripts can be handwritten or typed. Illustrations should not be included with the original writing -- you will create the drawings at the Galaxy Press.
42 works of writing have been submitted since the fall semester! For the 2002-2003 school year, 82 books were published and reside in the library.
