Safety Net Program - Child and Family Guidance Center
The Child and Family Guidance Center’s Safety Net Program offers counseling services to students in the Allen Independent School District Alternative Education Program. Counselors are Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers specializing in work with adolescents who experience behavior or emotional difficulties at home, at school, or in the community. Counselors may also be master’s level clinical interns who are focusing their work with adolescents in the alternative school setting and are supervised by licensed Child and Family Guidance Center staff. Our goal is to assist students in improving their ability to manage anger, strengthen communication skills, improve self-esteem, and recognize the risks and consequences of substance use and abuse.
The Child and Family Guidance Center is an outpatient mental health and behavioral health clinic that provides therapy, skills training, community support, and psychiatric medication evaluations for adults, adolescents, and children. Safety Net is the program specializing in the specific needs and issues of teens and their families. Please contact Shannon Vogel at 214-956-3501 with any questions or to provide information concerning your child.
