Safety Net Program - Child and Family Guidance Center
The Child and Family Guidance Center’s Safety Net Program offers a prevention education program to students in the Allen Independent School District Alternative Education Program. Facilitators are Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers, not providing counseling services at Dillard, but providing Life Skills Training at Dillard. They specialize in work with adolescents who experience behavior or emotional difficulties at home, at school, or in the community.
The goal of the Safety Net Program is to assist students in improving their ability to manage anger, strengthen communication skills, improve self-esteem, strengthen coping skills and recognize the risks and consequences of substance use and abuse.
Child and Family Guidance Center is an outpatient mental health clinic that provides therapy, skills training, community support, and psychiatric medication evaluations for adults, adolescents, and children. Safety Net Program is the in-school prevention education program specializing in the specific needs and issues of teens and their families.
