Tidbits from Mrs. Ryan • On Tuesday, May 27th, our class will be watching Charlotte’s Web on video. We recently read the book, so this will be our opportunity to compare the text to the dramatic version. • We have just recently started reading Trumpet of the Swans which is also by E.B. White. • On May 30th, our school is having the Annual Sock Hop! It is from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. • The Poet-Fest has been changed to June 2nd at 8:30 due to a conflict with the cafeteria. If your child is in the program and you want to hear the poetry, feel free to come. • On June 5th, we will be having Field Day (as you know from the previous communication). Please remind your child to bring a water bottle. • On the last day of school, June 5th, you are welcome to come watch Field Day activities and eat lunch with your child, if you like, but I would prefer that the afternoon be a time for the children to spend together in the classroom without adults. This gives the children a chance to reminisce and to say good-by to their classmates. • Your child will receive his/her report card on the last day unless there are outstanding fees, lost text books, library issues, etc. In that event, you can pick up the card at the office after taking care of whatever issue is unresolved. I will let your child know in advance if this is the case. • I certainly hope everyone joins the Allen Public Library’s Summer Reading Program!
