Course InformationKeyboarding is an elective computer course. It is no longer required by the district, but is highly recommended. Entering data into a computer using the keyboard is a skill that must be taught for effective computer use. Entering information into the computer without knowing the touch typing system can be slow and frustrating.
OBJECTIVES-to operate the keyboard by touch,-to develop keyboarding skills on the alphabetic and numeric keyboard (10 key pad), -to help develop speed and accuracy, -to identify errors and measure your typing speed -to review editing, -to learn language skills, -to apply keyboarding skills in preparing personal and business letters, memos, and reports. Grading Policies This course is graded on a 100% scale. Students will receive daily grades for assignments done during class. Students will be tested weekly on typing techniques which covers appropriate typing posture and finger placement. Student BehaviorThis course covers a lot of information and introduces important skills so it is important that students remain on task and complete all assignments. Points will be deducted from daily grades for students who are off task and do not complete assignments |
