Tidbits #5
Tidbits from Mrs. Ryan

*We will be starting division this week. Our practices will involve hands-on activities using cubes and markers. We will learn that division and multiplication are related. You can help at home by making or purchasing flash cards to reinforce the facts.

*The tiny tadpoles have grown and are doing well. Little feet have appeared on three of them. The students are enjoying watching them grow.

*Have you been to our class website? If not, go to : www.allenisd.org / click on “schools”/Boyd/Faculty/ Maridee Ryan

*In Science, we are learning about animal adaptations. With our new district technology, it’s easy to find good audio-visual materials to correlate with the science objectives. Ask your child about animal adaptations.

* One change to note: I have made the Reader’s Response Journals (black spirals) optional, but I am taking into account the number/quality of book summaries (sheets) for a grade as I did the last 6-weeks. I will send you a list of the number your child has completed this 6-weeks. They are completed primarily at home, but on occasion can be written in class.

*I am thoroughly enjoying the reader’s response journals. It is a great way for your child to read, reflect, write, and share.

*The room parents are busy preparing for our Winter Party. It should be fun!
