An elementary school counselor wears many hats. I provide developmental classroom guidance to all of our wonderful Knights in kindergarten through sixth grade. These sessions cover self-knowledge and acceptance, interpersonal and communication skills, responsible behavior, conflict resolution, decison making/problem solving, motivation to achieve, goal setting, and career planning. These sessions also provide the avenue to discuss our Character Counts!and No-Bullying progams. Student needs may also be addressed through small group and individual counseling sessions. These session are available as requested by parents, teachers, and/or students. As a member of the Student Study Team (SST), I help to coordinate any services that a student may need to be successful. I have access to many community resources that can be of service to our Norton families. I coordinate standardized testing (TAKS, ITBS, CogAT, TELPAS) for our campus. I am thrilled to also be the advisor for our fabulous Norton Student Council. I love children and I want to be an extra resource for parents and teachers as we work together to help each of our Knights "be the best that they can be".
