I'm Nicole Pennington and I am the Curtis Middle School orchestra director. I've been teaching orchestra for 17 years, and this is my 9th year at CMS. I also teach beginning orchestra at Anderson, Marion and Reed elementary schools. I grew up in Oklahoma City, where I began studying violin at the age of 9. I graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1987. I received my Bachelor of Music Education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1991. I began my teaching career at Ardmore Middle School (Ardmore, Ok) in 1992. In 1993, I moved to Odessa, Texas, where I taught at Bonham Junior High until 1999. I also taught one year of elementary music in Dallas ISD. I began teaching in Allen in 2000, and I taught at both Curtis and Ford Middle Schools. I am a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Texas Federation of Music Clubs and Mu Phi Epsilon (international professional music fraternity). My husband, Charles, is the Director of Bands at Allen High School. He has taught at AHS since 1999. We have two sons: Jake, 11, and Kyle, 4. BOOMER SOONER!! Big 12 Football Champions 2007
