Take a peek inside my classroom...

Welcome!

Can a seven or eight year old be perfect and still all day? Of course not! That's why we have a happy balance of large and small group, partner work, and individualized learning. We enjoy hands-on, unit related projects that allow for fun and creativity. Lessons are adapted to individual learning styles recognizing that every child has special talents and wonderful ideas with which to enrich our classroom. I feel it is important to challenge children to reach just a little further to raise their knowledge and understanding. These challenges vary for each child depending on learning styles and individual needs.

I understand that second graders have tender hearts and feelings are easily hurt. I believe that I not only take care of them academically but emotionally, as well. Hugs and words of encouragment are kept well in stock and are used frequently.

I want all children in my classroom to love second grade and to leave at the end of the year with new knowledge and feelings of success. I also hope that memories of our year together will bring some smiles to their faces in the years to come.

I sincerely love my chosen profession. I can't think of a more important or rewarding way to spend my day!
