|  The last two weeks of January, Kerr first graders will be embarking on a journey of discovery. Our new thematic unit will cover inventions. Students will learn about important inventors and inventions through internet research and stories. We will also become scientists through lab expeiences by developing their own "secret formula" for glue, soda, toothpaste, and ice cream. Students will learn about the important role of varous ingredients through self discovery. The children will write riddles about products, make an advertisement for one of their products, and compare and contrast their soda to a real one.
