I'm a native Texan and grew up in Garland. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (Go Lumberjacks!) and have a Bachelor of Social Work degree. After college, I realized that social work was not the career path I wanted to pursue, so I applied for Dallas' Alternative Certification Program. After working for a year, I received my Texas Teaching Certificate for grades 1st - 6th. The 2007 - 2008 academic year will be my 11th year teaching.
On a personal note, I live in Allen with my husband, John, of eight years and our toy poodle, Abbey. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family and friends, listen to music, and scrapbook.
