The Altair was the first to be called the "Personal Computer"

The Altair Computer was one of the first computers offered for exclusive home use.  It had been the first to be called the "personal computer".

The Altair was not very sophisticated, with no monitor or high memory, but it had a language that was made by a young Microsoft company.  Microsoft licensed their BASIC language to run the computers.  This was the start of Bill Gates and Paul Allen's career as software brokers that would create an empire.

The Language used by the Altair would start the Microsoft Corp. toward dominance of the operating systems.
