The Macintosh computer, made by Apple, was the first to successfully use the user friendly invention of the mouse. It had tool bars and pull down menus. It used the system of MacWrite software. MacWrite employed the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) word processing system.
This home computer had a monitor, a graphic interface system, and memory to hold information. It was introduced in a $1.5 million commercial that ran once during the 1984 Super Bowl. The commercial depicted the Macintosh setting people free from an Orwellian big brother future.
