| Welcome to 6th Grade Science at Bolin Elementary. I am committed to making science a fun academic experience for students. I try to encourage learning in many ways. One of the things my students especially enjoy is a program called, "Science on the Move". They actually go to younger classrooms and teach science concepts as well as lead them in mini labs. My teaching philosphy that sparked this program is, "One of the best ways to learn is to teach." We have covered a lot of information during the first semester of school. The first six weeks of the second semester has been devoted to physics, rocks and the rock cycle, weather and erosion and plate tectonics. We will start the second 6 weeks continuing our studies with geology. We will also learn about the water cycle, ground water, weather and different natural catastrophic events. It's hard to believe how quickly the school year is going. I enjoy watching students learn and grow.
