This will be my 6th year working here at Allen ISD, but I have over ten years experience as an educator. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin University, and also completed certification as a Special Education teacher. I have experience working with children that demonstrate a need for specialized instruction in core subjects and targeted social skills.
I am a native Texan raised in East Texas. When am not teaching I enjoy interior design, traveling, cooking and spending time with my family. I have been married for 17 years to my wonderful husband Anthony Cooks. We have two children Lauren, 13 and Cameron,8.
My philosophy for learning is to recognize the uniqueness in every child and to respect the various learning styles that each child has as an opportunity for success. My job as your child's teacher is to help your child discover their individuality and work alongside them as a guide to maximize their learning potential.
