About Mrs. Powell

I am thrilled to be at Green Elementary. It is my neighborhood school and I am a big advocate of serving our community as an educator. I truly believe it takes a village to raise a child and together as a community we have an opportunity to raise tomorrow's leaders TODAY! Tom and I have been married for 22 years. We have lived in Allen for the past twenty years. We have two children, our daughter is a sophomore at OU (Go Sooners!)and our son is in the 9th grade at Lowery. And then of course there is Tucker. He is our six year old, 100 pound golden retriever. Tucker is just one BIG sweetheart! Tom is an Indiana native so we are big Hoosier fans! I was born and raised in Alamo Heights until my family relocated to Dallas. I have taught school for twenty years. In my "free" time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, heading to the lake, reading, gardening, pilates, and learning (yes, I am stillllll learning!) how to play golf. I also enjoy seeing a great flick, (but only after I read the book!) The 2008-2009 year will be my nineth year at Green and my sixteenth in the district. I truly enjoy working with third graders. We have a wonderful, dynamic team of teachers and staff, as well as incredible students and parents. Please call me if you have any questions or concerns.
