Class Organization

We use THREE RESOURCES to help your child develop and practice clear communication skills between home and school as well as organization skills.

THE SECRET TO SUCCESS in using these three resources is to be consistent. Create a place and a time every afternoon or evening to review this with your child. Even if your not home when your child gets home, he knows that you will check "the place" for his work each day. BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR CHILD PACK IT ALL UP BEFORE HE GOES TO BED. Mornings and alarm clocks can be uncertain! Teach your child how to learn to be prepared!

Resource #1:

The Agenda. The Agenda comes home everyday. Your child has an opportunity to write down what his homework assignment is for the evening throughout the day, beginning at 7:55, with additional time at the end of the day set aside specifically for just that goal.

Resource #2:

The homework notebook. Please check your child's homework notebook every night. We will send home weeky review packets of material we are continuing to reinforce in class and at home. If I have assigned homework and your child has already completed the assignment, it will be in the notebook waiting to be turned in on the due date. This allows you to see that the work has been completed as well as check over it if you wish.

Resource #3

PARENT PARTICIPATION. Please CREATE A DAILY ROUTINE of your child sharing his/her agenda with you as well as his notebook. Even if your child's homework notebook is empty, PLEASE check the agenda to see if there is a long term project/assignment or any other information you might need to know about.
