Fun DayFun Day is an annual event. We spend an
afternoon outside playing basketball, football, soccer, as well as running three-legged
races and dunking teachers in the dunking booth.
One year our principal and assistant principal squared off
in a Sumo wrestling match. Everybody eats pizza and cotton candy. Some people
just sit in the sun on the bleachers or on the grass and talk to their friends.
Face painting is available, and teachers take turns as the
recipient of a pie in the face. The water slide is a popular activity since Fun Day
is always at the end of school when the weather is hot.
The money we take in at this event pays for the rental for
the booths and activities. What's left goes into the fund that pays for the next
year's TAKS snacks.
