Veterans Day

Students, parents, teachers, and veterans celebrate Veterans Day through our annual assembly and reception given in honor of the veterans in our community.

Last year the band, choir, and orchestra performed patriotic selections separately and an arrangement of "God Bless America" all together.  Mrs. McCoy-Jackson welcomed everyone and turned the program over to the Student Council officers, who provided information about the origins of Veterans Day, and read the presidential proclamation declaring Veterans Appreciation Week.

Student contest winners read their essay and poems telling what freedom meant to the authors.  You'll want to read these documents.  They are moving.

A reception was given in honor of the veterans who were our guests.  Student Council officers and PALS acted as hosts and hostesses for the reception.  These students also ushered guests to their seats in the gym where the assembly was held.
