Dances

Students look forward to the 3 or 4 Friday-night dances that are held at Ford every year.  The dress for these events is dress-code casual.  Occasionally, one will be a little dressier, but most students come in school clothes.

The first is always the Back-to-School Dance sponsored by NJHS.  It's usually the first Friday in September.  With the help of the Art Club, NJHS members decorate the cafeteria and gym lobby for this dance.  They arrange for the DJ and for chaperones.  Groups and couples have their picture made to remember the occasion.

The PTA usually sponsors the winter dance, held just before we leave for our holiday break.  Last year the students voted on a king and queen from the 8th grade and a prince and princess from the 7th grade to be crowned at the dance.

Again at Valentines Day, a dance is held, complete with a king and queen. Finally, the PTA sponsors an end of year dance to celebrate the end of school.
