New Pickup and Drop Off Procedures
Beginning March 27
Due to the kitchen construction, the buses now pick up
and drop off students on Whitman next to the bicycle racks.
Whitman is the street between the school and the soccer fields.
Bus students will enter the school through the front doors and then go
to the gym or cafeteria. After school, bus riders will exit their
regular exit doors, but will meet their busses on Whitman along the side
of D-hall. This information is also important to parents who pick
up and drop off students from their cars. The place for this is
the outside of the doors to the gym lobby. Remember that the
busses will be parked on Whitman, so parents will not be able to safely
drop off or pick up students in that area.
How to Arrive and Leave School
(when renovation is done)
Busses will drop off students in the parking lot off Whitman on the pool
side of the building near the Auxiliary Gym. For the safely of our students, please
don't drive or park in the back parking area. Parents dropping off or
picking up students by car should drive through the parking lot off Park Place
Drive according the the instructions on the photos.Drive
Safely
Please consider your own safety and the safely of others
when you drop off and pick up your children. Notice that parents will all drop off
students from the one lane closest to the sidewalk. Two lanes are avaliable for
pickup, but this means that children will be crossing traffic lanes.Be very
alert. Please notice two lanes of traffic exiting the parking lot. The
cars in the left-hand lane should turn left. Cars in the right-hand lane should turn
right. Be prepared. |

Bus Routes on the Web
The Aisd Transportation Department is proud to announce
their new presence on the district website. You can find a bus route for your
address, read important announcement, and sign up for email notification when stops or
times change. Check
it out.
Walk Safely
Please notice the picture at the bottom
of this page that shows the crosswalks around the school. These are the only safe
place to cross as they are staffed by trained crossing guards. In addition to being
careful to cross the street in a safe location, other precautions are sensible for
children who walk home to take. Debby Moore from our administration office
recommments discussing this
document with your children so that they will know how to be safe walking home.
Ticketing Jaywalkers
The city of Allen has notified us that
students who leave school by crossing a street in a place that is not a clearly marked
crosswalk will be ticketed for jaywalking. As you can imagine, there is heavy
traffic around schools, so students must be careful and alert to cross the street where
motorists expect them to cross. In addition, drivers will be ticketed if they are
parked across the street from the school and their child is ticketed for jaywalking
attempting to get to the car.
