How to Buy LunchStudents
and parents need to know the procedures for buying lunch in the cafeteria. In
general, students deposit money into their lunch account. When they buy lunch money
is deducted from their account.
In order to buy food in the cafeteria,
students must put money in their lunch accounts. To do this, parents should make
checks payable to Ford Middle School. They must also include their first and last name,
and their student ID number on the check in the lower left hand side. They can deposit
checks into the tall cylinder (see the picture below) in the front office. Checks can be
turned in before school or during school before the end of first period.

Cafeteria Renovation and What
it Means to You
The Ford Middle School kitchen will be renovated
starting Saturday, March 15, through the end of the school year. While
the kitchen will be under construction, the cafeteria will still be used
and will be available for the students. Temporary serving lines will be
set up to facilitate lunch. Food will be delivered from Little Caesar’s,
Chick-fil-A, and another district kitchen. A Plate Lunch line will also
be available. The account procedures (depositing money to account etc.)
for lunch will stay the same during the construction period. If you have
questions or need more information, please contact Student Nutrition at
(972) 727-0545.

PayPams
You may also put money into your child's lunch account
online through PayPams,
where you can also view your child's daily purchases! The Cafeteria Purchase section of
PayPams shows the daily beginning account balance, daily spending amount along with
itemized detail. If you do not have a PayPams online account started please do so TODAY at
- www.PayPams.com
To setup the account online you will need your child's Student ID# . Please notice
that when you complete the information online for PayPams, "zeros" are not
required in front of the student ID number.
To pay for lunch, students scan the bar code on the bottom
of your ID in front of the scanner shown on the right . If they dont have money in
their account, they can only charge in the hot plate line.
Nutrition
Nutritional meals will be provided as usual in the
cafeteria. There's been a change in the Plate Lunch Meal Pattern. Students may
choose 1 entree plus 1 - 3 sides plus a milk. Students are not required to take
milk, however, they can no longer substitute a side item or juice for milk. Here's
what a tray will look like.

school and suggestions by the Texas Department of Agriculture's for healthier kids, go to
the Square Meals
website.
Also new this year is the Virtual
Cafeteria, an interactive virtual cafeteria application which provides nutritional
information on meals and ala carte items offered during breakfast and lunch.
Clean Up
Once students have finished their lunch, they must dump
their trays in the trashcans around the cafeteria and return them. Once students sit down
at a table, they cannot move around the cafeteria from table to table. |
