Donors
To Be Recognized On New Appreciation Wall
With the
completion of the new Allen ISD Administration Building in March
2008, the Foundation and the district will be able to recognize
donors in a new way. The 3-story atrium will feature a Donor
Appreciation Wall and will highlight donors in the following
categories:
SUSTAINING $2,000
(Over 2 years in annual or monthly contributions)
PATRON
$5,000
(Over 3 years in annual or monthly
contributions)
LEGACY $10,000
(Over 5 years in annual or monthly contributions)
Donations may be made in memory of or in honor of an individual,
group or school. Sustaining, Patron and Legacy donors will be
invited to a special Donor Appreciation event at the new Allen
ISD Administration Building in spring 2008.
Marty Monnat,
former Allen ISD Board of Trustee member, is chairman of the
2007 Annual Campaign. “I am the grandchild of immigrants and my
parents and grandparents drilled into us the importance of an
education every day. They never dreamed that we would all go on
to college and even to graduate school.
“I believe that a quality education is the greatest gift a
community can give its children. It is something that can never
be taken away and can change the future of that child.
‘During my years as
a trustee, I would tell people that the reward for board service
was being on the stage at graduation, watching the faces of the
seniors as they realized that a whole new world lay ahead of
them. Since becoming involved in the Foundation, however,
having seen the faces of both teachers and students who have
benefited from the grants and scholarships we have awarded, I
realized that graduation really is an end-result of what happens
every day in our classrooms. I have seen first-hand how
important it is for us to be successful in what we do to support
those programs.”
Donations can be made online or by printing and mailing the
donation form found on the website, or by contacting the
Foundation office at 972-727-0362.

Grant Total Exceeds Quarter
Million Mark
Over the past seven
years, the Foundation has awarded a total 223 classroom grants,
with funds directed to Allen ISD classrooms totaling $238,577.
Grants for the current school year include an elementary
art/photography project, a math assistance program for middle
school students, and many science and library projects.
“The quantity and the quality of our classroom grants continues
to increase every year,” said Regina Taylor, Foundation
Director. “Our teachers estimate that this year’s grants will
directly impact more than 10,000 Allen students. That’s a very
big impact and very positive impact for our donor’s investment!”
