Kids Club After School Program

What is The Kids Club After-School Program?
Kids Club is open to all school-aged children in kindergarten through grade six who live within the Allen ISD boundaries. A minimum of three days a week is required.

Kids Club staff members are employees of AISD. Kids Club programs are managed at each school by a site coordinator. Each site coordinator will work with the children and manage the day-to-day operations of the program. Adult assistants are hired to work with children. Student assistants and volunteers may also be used according to specific site needs.

Kids Club is an after-school program designed to provide children of working parents with a safe, home-like atmosphere. The program provides after-school care for children in kindergarten through grade six. Kids Club members are able to choose from a variety of recreational, social and enrichment activities each day. Kids Club is supported by parent fees and serves over 1500 children at 17 elementary schools.  Kids Club is not a licensed day care and has received exemption from the governance of child care licensing. Kids Club is associated with AISD and is governed by the regulations of the Texas Education Agency.

What about Food and Snacks?
The Allen ISD Food Service Department provide a nutritious snack for all participants. The cost of snacks is included in the monthly fee. Children attending Kids Club on special vacation days will be required to bring their own lunch. An afternoon snack will be provided.

What Type of Activities Are Offered?
The primary goal of Kids Club is to provide a safe, healthy, well-supervised, home-like environment for all children. Children are offered choices wherever possible to make the program relevant and fun for everyone.

The Kids Club program provides opportunities for the child to be involved in self-directed activities, large motor activities in the gymnasium and outside, arts and crafts projects, field trips, independent reading, homework time and computers. Many of the Kids Club activities are planned by the children with guidance from the program staff. In this way, the program is less like school and more like home.
