Pre-K is a half-day preschool program serving at risk children who are four years old by September 1st of the current school year.
Pre-K is located at Rountree Elementary. Allen ISD currently offers eight sections of Pre-K. One section of bilingual Spanish/English classes is offered in the afternoon. Pre-K classes are taught by certified teachers. Each Pre-K classroom also has a paraprofessional staff member. Transportation is not provided for students in the Pre-K Program. 2012-2013 Pre-K Program Applications are available at all AISD elementary campuses and at the Early Childhood & Language Support Center. 2013-2014 Pre-K Program Applications for the 2013-2014 Pre-K Program will be available at all AISD elementary campuses,

Children qualify for Pre-K by:
English Language Learner, or meeting state guidelines for free and reduced lunch, or being a current or previous foster child, or being identified as homeless, or having a parent who is currently serving active military duty, or having a parent who has been injured or killed while serving on active military duty.
Morning classes meet from 7:55 a.m. - 10:55 a.m. Afternoon classes are from 11:55 p.m. - 2:55 p.m.
Families must fill out an application and will be notified by the Special Programs Coordinator if they qualify.

El programa de Pre-K es un programa de medio día para los niños que tienen cuatro años para septiembre 1° en el presente año escolar. Actualmente el Distrito Escolar de Allen (AISD) ofrece ocho secciones de estas clases. Tambien, hay una seccíon bilingüe (Inglés y Español) en la tarde.
Empezando el año escolar 2011-2012, todas las clases estarán situadas en la Escuela de Rountree. Cada salón de clase de Pre-K cuenta un profesor certificado y un asistente. No se provee transporte para alumnos de Pre-K. Los requisitos para Pre-K son:
- Inglés limitado
- Guías del estado para comidas reducidas o gratis
- Identificados como sin vivienda
- El tener un padre/a de familia que actualmente esté sirviendo para el Servicio Militar
Las clases de las mañanas serán de 7:55 a.m. - 10:55 a.m.
Las clases de la tarde serán de 11:55 p.m. - 2:55 p.m.
Las familias deben llenar una solicitud y serán notificados por la Coordinadora de Programas Especiales si calificaran.
