Vaughan PTA Programs
Vaughan PTA sponsors many activities and family fun nights throughout the year. Our mission is to help families enjoy time together while attending these events. This year we have held many “Programs.” Please read the year end review below of the many fun programs from this school year. 2011-2012 PTA Programs
In August, we had a popsicle social during Meet the Teacher Night. It was fun seeing so many returning Vaughan families meeting new families and their teachers as well as favorite staff members.
In February, we welcomed Sgt. Chris Meehan from the Collin County Sheriff's Dept., Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. His presentation on internet safety was extremely informative.
Following April's PTA meeting, our wonderful First Graders presented a musical performance. Students then enjoyed creating a piggy bank with recycled milk jugs in honor of Earth Day. April also saw the kick-off of our Hiking for Vikings fundraiser to raise money needed to add a shade structure to the school.
In May, we had an enormous turn-out at the End-of-Year Bash! Everyone's an All-Star at Vaughan and that was reflected in our sports-themed party. Families enjoyed games, prizes, popcorn, nachos, snow cones, drinks, keepsake photos, and the hugely popular dunking booth manned by our wonderful WatchDOGS! It was a great way to celebrate the end of a successful school year.
