The Team of Eight
The AISD Board of Trustees and
Superintendent form the “Team of Eight.” Board meetings
are held monthly at Allen City Hall. The meetings usually
begin at 7:00 p.m. and are usually held on the fourth
Monday of the month. Call 972.727.0511 to check meeting
dates. Patrons who would like to contact the Board are
invited to “Ask the Team of Eight” by emailing their
questions to

May 2009 Bond Election
Results
Allen ISD
voters approved the
$119.4 million bond proposal
on May 9th.
Election night results
showed that
2,363 (64%) were cast for the
proposal and 1,349 votes (36%)
were cast against the proposal. A total of 3,712
residents voted in the 2009 Allen ISD election out of a
possible 42,245 registered voters. A total of 28,363
residents voted in the November 2008 election which also
included the U.S. presidential election.
The bonds will finance a number of projects over the
next five years including:
1. A new auditorium at Allen High School which is
scheduled to open in December 2011
2. A new multipurpose stadium which is scheduled to open
in August 2012]
3. A new service center for maintenance, student
nutrition and transportation which will open in December
2014

Contacting The Board of
Trustees
Patrons wishing to contact the school
board regarding a specific school, teacher or child, are
encouraged to begin at the level closest to the concern.
Step One
Contact the teacher or guidance counselor
Step Two Contact the principal (If a
school-wide concern, this becomes step one.)
Step Three Contact the Assistant
Superintendent responsible for the area of concern:
Curriculum & Instruction, Finance, Human Resources,
Student Services
Step Four Contact the Superintendent of
Schools or designee
Citizens wishing to express themselves
regarding school district policy, boundaries, finances,
or other responsibilities of the Board which have not
been placed on a regular agenda are encouraged to use
one or more of these alternatives.

open forum which is
held at the start of each monthly meeting.

Letters to the Team of Eight are sent to the Board
of Trustee members, the Superintendent of Schools
and the Public Information Officer. When
possible, the Public Information Office will respond
to the patron with additional information regarding
their concern or request. Board members also receive
copies of all responses to patrons.
