Attendance Boundary
Proposal
The Board of Trustees requested changes
to the original school boundary plan on November 26.
The revised plans were presented to the Board of
Trustees on December 17. The new proposal for attendance boundary
changes for 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 are
posted below. This is the proposal that will be
discussed and presented for action by the Board of
Trustees on January 21.

Process Summary
September 24 - The process for establishing attendance
boundaries for Mary Evans Elementary School and
Elementary School #15 is underway. The Allen ISD Board
of Trustees appointed a 24-member committee in September
to study options for creating school boundaries for the
two new elementary schools and the middle schools those
campuses will feed into.
Public meetings to discuss the changes have been set at
6:30 p.m. for the following dates and locations:
November 1 – Kerr Elementary School; November 5 – Marion
Elementary School; November 12 – Boon Elementary School;
and November 13 at Ereckson MS if needed
(canceled**) Patrons are invited to attend any of the scheduled
public meetings.

summary of parameters set by the Board for the process
along with a list of committee members from each campus
is available below.

Parameters For
Establishing School Attendance Boundaries
• AISD will continue to use the feeder
school philosophy by designating specific elementary campuses to assigned middle
schools.
• AISD Staff and the committee will use
the most recent enrollment projection data from the annual demographic report.
• The boundary change should optimize
school facility usage and accommodate growth patterns throughout the District.
• A campus capacity should not include
portable classroom space that is considered temporary.
• Programs for special population groups
should be considered in relation to capacity issues.
• Fiscal impact on staffing,
transportation and building capacity must be considered.
• AISD believes demographic diversity
enriches our community and the committee should embrace this philosophy in its
analysis of feeder school scenarios.
