Community Education
General Information

About Community Education
The Allen ISD Community Education program began in 1980 and has grown in participation and services ever since. Approximately 5,000 children were enrolled in classes, concerts, events and summer camps during the 2004-05 school year. This is a self-supporting program.

Allen ISD Community Education offers a new schedule of children's classes and activities in fall, winter and spring.  In addition, Community Education also offers children's concerts, programs and special events like the Father/Daughter Ball and the Mother/Son Dance. During the summer, Community Education offers approximately 100 camps for children ages 30 months through grade 7. Over 1,500 students attended summer camps in 2005.

Registration
Pre-registration is required. You may register for classes by cash, check, money orders, MasterCard or Visa. Please make checks or money orders payable to Allen ISD or AISD. A returned check fee of $25 is enforced. Please include your DL# and date of birth on all checks.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition is payable in full at the time of registration. Any supplies or books are delivered to students at the first class meeting. Returned Check fee is $25. Credit card use is subject to verification.

Waiting List
If a class is full, you may place your name on a waiting list. The list provides a name and telephone number so you can be contacted if openings occur or if a new section of the class is added. Once contacted, enrollment is only guaranteed if payment is received by the end of the next working day.

Refund Policy (Summer Camps Excluded)
Unless otherwise noted in the description, a full refund will be given if you call to cancel a class 72 hours before class starts. There are no exceptions. Class tuition cannot be transferred to the next session. There are no refunds 1 week prior to any class that has supplies (books, crafts supplies, cooking supplies, etc.). See Summer Camp yearly brochure for Summer Camp Refund Policy. The brochure will be published in April 2007.

Confirmation
Unless notified, you are enrolled. Confirmations will not be sent. If you would like a confirmation, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to AISD Community Education, PO Box 13, Allen, TX 75013.

School Closings
Classes will not meet when schools are closed for holidays or emergencies. When inclement weather forces the closing of schools, Community Education will also cancel classes. Area radio stations and Allen Cable Channel 98 will carry such notices.
