It is an honor to have you serve as a substitute teacher in Allen ISD. Our mission plan is to address the individual learning needs of each student who enters our schools. You are encouraged to recognize the important role you play in this plan and seek to make "every kid a winner."

Allen ISD, the Board of Trustees and professional staff consider substitute teaching an important phase of our total school program. Substitute teachers are welcomed as members of our professional family and will be treated with consideration, courtesy, and respect by all school personnel, parents and pupils.

Substitute teachers must apply on line. The application is complete when references, transcripts and applicant questionnaire are received in the AISD Human Resources Office. Finally, attending a substitute orientation training is required before your name will appear on the Approved Substitutes List.

Substitute teachers with more than 90 or greater college hours will be paid $75.00 per day. The rate of pay will increase to $65.00 per day for long-term assignments of 15 or more consecutive school days worked in the same position. This rate will begin on the 15th day of the assignment. Once you have worked 14 consecutive days for a long-term assignment, you may be out 2 days and still receive the increased rate of pay.
