What is The Kids Club After-School Program?
Kids Club is an after-school program designed to provide children of working parents with a safe, home-like atmosphere. The program provides after-school care for children in kindergarten through grade six. Kids Club members are able to choose from a variety of recreational, social and enrichment activities each day. Kids Club is supported by parent fees and will serve over 1,200 children at 14 elementary schools during the 2008-2009 school year. Kids Club is not a licensed day care and has received exemption from the governance of child care licensing. Kids Club is associated with AISD and is governed by the regulations of the Texas Education Agency.

Who May Participate In Kids Club?
Kids Club is open to all school-aged children in kindergarten through grade six who live within the Allen ISD boundaries. A minimum of three days a week is required.

Kids Club opens every day at 2:55 p.m. and closes at 6:30 p.m. The program is offered on all regular school days. Parents have the option to register for special school vacation days at an added cost.

How Is the Program Staffed?
Kids Club staff members are employees of AISD. Kids Club programs are managed at each school by a site coordinator. Each site coordinator will work with the children and manage the day-to-day operations of the program. Adult assistants are hired to work with children. Student assistants and volunteers may also be used according to specific site needs.

The Allen ISD Community Services Department coordinates the entire Kids Club Program. This department handles child registration, staff employment, purchasing, staff training and curriculum development.

The Allen ISD Food Service Department provide a nutritious snack for all participants. The cost of snacks is included in the monthly fee. Children attending Kids Club on special vacation days will be required to bring their own lunch. An afternoon snack will be provided.
