Phoenix Program (grades 9-12)
The Phoenix Program is the course of study for the gifted and talented at Allen High School. The program is offered in grades nine through twelve through the English Department and consists of two, two-year blocks of study.

The 9th and 10th grade students are engaged in a study of the American Experience, an integrated study of American literature, history, and the fine arts and the concepts and ideas which shaped a nation.

The 11th and 12th grade students combine for a study called The Legacy of Empires, a study of the ideas which have shaped the history, literature, the arts, and philosophy of Britain and her spheres of influence.

Students in the Phoenix Program will be prepared and are expected to take the Advanced Placement Exam in Language and Composition at the end of their junior year and the Advanced Placement Exam in Literature and Composition at the end of their senior year.  Students who have been identified as gifted/talented according to the district selection process are eligible to be served in this program.
