The plate lunch menu meets the
USDA Dietary Guidelines. The weekly menu
contains an average of no more than 30% of the
calories from fat (10% from saturated fat) and
provides 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance
for calories. The menu also exceeds Vitamin A,
Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron Requirements. A detailed analysis of lunch entrees is shown
below.
The Texas School Nutrition Policy
became effective August 1, 2004. The Allen ISD
Student Nutrition Dept. implemented many of
these restrictions in the 2003-04 school year. During 2006-07, menu and snack choices will
continue to adhere to the new policy
requirements.

Parents
can block snack purchases by contacting the
school Cafeteria Manager by phone or email indicating
your preference.
