I am excited to share this middle school journey with you! This will be my 10th year in the classroom. (5 years teaching high school English and Creative Writing and four years teaching Pre-K.)
My hubby Matt and I are both from Longview, in East Texas, where the trees are tall and life is slower. But I woudn't trade it for life in Allen! I graduated from Texas A&M University where I majored in Journalism and minored in English. After graduating from college and getting married, I student taught at J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, and I continued to teach there until our first daughter was born. I enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom for 8 years until I went back into the classroom at our church preschool where I taught Pre-K for the past four years.
We have two daughters, Abby and Macy. Abby is 13 and is an 8th grader here at Ereckson. Macy is 10 and a 5th grader at Norton Elementary. We have lived in Allen since 2007, and we absolutely love this town and school district. To be teaching in our neighborhood and home middle school is a dream come true! We also have a puppy, a miniature dachshund named Marley. She definitely keeps us busy. I enjoy reading, writing, watching college football (go Aggies! and I root for my hubby's Red Raiders too!), watching Texas Rangers baseball, Wheel of Fortune, board games, trivia and I'm always up for a good joke. Life is too short to not fill our days with laughter!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any concerns/questions. Communication is key.
This is an unprecedented year, but we are all in this together. It's going to be a great year!
