WELCOME LETTER TO THE CHEATHAM 6TH GRADE CHOIR!
Dear 6th grade Choir Parents,
I am so thrilled to have such wonderful, hard working and talented 6th graders in the choir at Cheatham. It's going to be a year of fun, hard work and some self discovery. Some of the kids have chosen choir because they love to sing. Some were told they would be in choir for various reasons. I just want each and every one of them to know that "Mrs. Fecht loves you!!!" and I'm sure they will "keep it that way" (a little inside joke in the choir that you'll probably hear about before the end of the year). We will honor the veterans, learn about different cultures, continue to develop our musicality and honor Mrs. Beverly Cheatham by the time they are finished being a 6th grader. I will send you emails regarding all performances in a timely manner. Please make every effort to get your child to these performances. Although, Choir is labeled as a "special" in the schedule, I think of it more as an "essential". Your child will learn so much more than singing and concert ettiquette. They will learn teamwork, work ethic, history, world cultures and respect for the arts. I will work them hard, but we'll get to play a little, too. And, when it's all over, I'll be a sobbing mess. I guarantee that I won't want to let them go. Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns and I'll be happy to meet with you or chat over the phone.
