    Dear French learners,
     
    Welcome to your first year of French!
     
       Congratulations on stepping into a whole new world of possibilities.  Consider the opportunity to travel to new places and to have conversations in a language that is relatively new to you.  It is exciting and scary all at once.
       A    lthough French may be new to you, you will learn to use it effectively to communicate with other French speakers.  You will understand them, and you will be understood.
       So jump into this new world you have chosen to discover.  I promise you that it will be a worthwhile adventure during which you will learn a whole lot and have a lot of fun!
     
       Again, welcome, bienvenue!  I am so excited that you have chosen to join French class this year!
