Edmodo – What is it?
This year we will be using Edmodo in 2nd grade to extend the walls of ourclassroom. Edmodo is a free and secure learning network for teachers, students, and schools. It provides a safe way for teachers to communicate with students, allow students to communicate with the teacher and group, and allow students to develop proper netiquette and digital responsibility.
All student activity within Edmodo must follow Edmodo’s Terms of Service as well as Allen ISD’s Technology Acceptable Use Policy for Students. The AUP can be found on Boon’s Technology Page.
Edmodo is accessible online and through any mobile device with Internet capabilities – including free apps for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices.
Edmodo will NOT be used as a social network like Facebook. This tool will be used strictly for educational purposes. See the Guidelines for Posting in Edmodo Page.
Students who violate the guidelines may face disciplinary action and/or face losing the privilege of using Edmodo.
We look forward to a great year as we incorporate the use of technology into our classroom curriculum. If you have any questions, please contact us.
