    Mr. Brooks
    Room B213
    Meeting times:
    Day of week: Every Thursday
    Time: 3:35-4:30 PM

My name is Mr. Brooks and I am a Business teacher at Lowery Freshman Center.  I am also an avid guitar player and a music fanatic.  I learned how to play guitar from a free guitar program at my junior high school when I was 12 years old and it was a life changing experience.  It taught me discipline, respect and that results come from hard work and dedication. I have been playing for 30 years with a background in primarily classic/hard rock and heavy metal.

I will be teaching beginners and welcoming experienced players to join this club after school on Thursdays from 3:30pm-4:30pm.  My goal is to provide a safe, monitored, nurturing environment for students to learn, practice and play with other guitar enthusiasts from every music genre.

This club is free and the only requirement is that the student brings their own instrument.

Please feel free to email me with any questions and concerns!

    9/3/15 Update!
The official start date for Guitar Club this year is Thursday September 17th! You do not need to bring your guitar for the first meeting. It will be a meet and greet and informational meeting only. I had some awesome musical experiences this summer and can't wait to share! Check back for more updates!
    9/28 Update!
I went to the premiere of 'Metallica: Through the Never' last night at Northpark in Dallas! Here is my official movie review: AWESOME. Kirk Hammett from Metallica made an appearance and introduced the movie to the fans! Unfortunately he did not get a chance to sign autographs but it was awesome just being in the same room with one of my guitar idols! I also scored some cool free stuff and I scored enough stickers for everyone in Guitar Club to have one! Check them out!
Below is a video of me meeting my Guitar idol this summer, Dave Mustaine from Megadeth! He was extremely nice and gracious. The next day he tweeted his favorite fan quote from the autograph signing and it was my quote! Follow @LFCGuitarClub to see the tweet and come by my classroom (C108)to see the autographed poster!
