Curtis Middle School is "gearing" up for the annual Rudolph Run. You can register now online through November 1st. We only have a few more weeks. Signs are posted throughout the building and there is a link on our school website; there are also brochures in the office.
With registration for this event, you get a cool tee-shirt. Be sure to register under Curtis Middle School, so that our school gets credit for your entry.

Attention all 7th and 8th grade girls who are trying out for basketball: Try-outs will be held on October 30th - November 1st here at Curtis. 7th graders will try-out before school at 7:30 am. 8th graders will try-out after school at 3:45 pm. You MUST have all RankOne online forms filled out and a sports physical turned in to try-out. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. Please see Coach Carr or Coach Paul for any questions.
Recycled Art Contest
This year Keep Allen Beautiful has partnered with Friends of the Allen Public Library for a 2-in-1 Recycled Art Contest themed, "Recycling & Wind Energy!" Grade 5 - 8 students are encouraged to create a sculpture of a windmill utilizing items found in the City’s Clear Stream Recycling Program.
Part 1: Open to all Allen residents. Artwork, along with completed Entry Form, due at the Allen Public Library Children’s Desk by 4:45 pm on October 4, 2019.
Part 2: Open to Allen ISD students only. Artwork along with completed Entry Form, due at the CMS Art Lab, on or before Oct 23, 2019.
Students entering Part 1 are automatically eligible for Part 2. All other details and Entry Form can be found at curtiscougarpta.com

Announcing the NASAO 2020 Aviation Art Contest.
The theme of this contest is “Flying Yesterday and Tomorrow.”
Art Submission Rules:
Youths ages 6-17 are eligible to participate. All artwork must be done by hand (or, in th case of physically challenged children, by foot or mouth)
Format & Representation:
11 x 17 inches
Permitted medium includes acrylic, oil paint, watercolor, indelible marker pens, felt-tip pens, soft ball-point pens, indelible ink, Crayola or any similar indelible medium.
The deadline for entry for the 2020 Aviation Art Contest is January 17th, 2020.

PTA Reflections is a national art contest that encourages artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate. This year's theme is Look Within. Students can choose between 6 categories - Visual Arts, Photography, Film Production, Music Composition, Dance Choreography and Literature. All entries should be taken to the Curtis library between Monday, October 28th and Thursday, October 31st. Be sure you have an entry form with your submission and a parent must be a PTA Member to enter.
