• Bus Misconduct Suggested Policies

    Student Misconduct Reports
     1. After exhausting all other reasonable means of discipline, the bus driver should fill out a "Bus Conduct Report". The form should list the student's name and the offense he/she committed. The form will be given the Transportation Office for review to determine if it is forwarded to the school Principal.

     2. Upon the Principal's completion of the investigation, the "Bus Conduct Report" form will be completed and the parents will be notified of any action taken.

     3. A completed form will be sent to the parents of the student involved. One copy will be filed in the student's folder and one copy will be returned to
    the Transportation Office.

     4. When the infraction is of such a nature that riding privileges are lost, the student will not be allowed to resume riding the bus until the number of school days that
was assigned by the Principal have passed.

     5. No student will be put off the bus between home and school or between school and home. If a situation arises that is beyond the control of the driver, he/she will notify the transportation office and ask for assistance. If the situation can be handled with the Principal the following morning, the route will be completed without delays.

The results of these four types of offenses and behaviors could be harmful and even deadly. Disorder can produce hazardous bus rides by diverting the driver's attention away from his/her task — DRIVING THE BUS IN A CAREFUL AND EFFICIENT MANNER. Minimizing the disruptions that occur on school buses is one way to improve transportation safety.

Parents can be of great assistance in providing safe and efficient transportation for all children by (1) supporting the school administration and the bus driver; (2) accepting joint responsibility with the school administration and the bus driver for maintaining proper conduct of children while they are boarding, riding or leaving the school bus.

Again, it is the goal of the Allen Independent School District to provide safe transportation for each eligible child. Safety in transportation includes proper student behavior while on the bus. Proper behavior by all passengers allows the driver to concentrate on driving and the students to arrive safely at their destination. We invite you to help us in our goal of safely transporting the students of Allen I.S.D. by reviewing this with your child.
