Students reluctant, struggling, or unable to read over the summer have their reading skills improved through a take home bag of books for the summer.
Students have access to a community wide shared-reading in which the Allen community reads specific books with events related to the books.
Students in the Dyslexia Therapy classroom along with other struggling readers will benefit from appropriately leveled books that also have an audio recording.
Students in functional academics with lower reading levels will utilize ipads in order to reenact and a story after hearing it in order to improve reading skills.
Students will attend a "camp" in which the classrooms are transformed into campgrounds where students review all of their writing TEKS.
