Degrees and Certifications:

Meet Mrs. Georgas

Hi! My name is Julie Georgas. I am so excited that I get to be a part of your child's learning adventure this year! I have taught for 23 years in both private and public school. I have taught pre-k through 4th grade in the regular classroom. I am also a gifted and talented specialist and taught AIM in Allen for eight years. This is my 18th year in Allen.

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Bill, for 34 years! We were high school sweethearts and met in American Literature class! He is a West Point graduate, so "we" served in the army after we were married. Now he works for a  technology company called Power Plus. I have two amazing children and an incredible daughter-in-law and son-in-law. Kevin is my oldest. He is THIRTY ONE!!! Bill and I agree there is no way we could possibly have a thirty one year old child! Kevin graduated from the divinity school at Duke University. He is now a pastor at a small church in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We are very proud of the man he has become! His wife, Caitlin, is a social worker and shares Kevin's passion for serving. My granddaughter, Agnes, is the smartest, most adorable, perfect, witty, loving child on earth (there's no bias there)! She will be three in October. My grandson, James, is a miracle baby! He was born with a congenital heart defect. Three days after he was born he had to have open heart surgery and another big surgery last October. He has one more big surgery coming up when he turns three. He is such a trooper and always has a smile on his face! I wish they lived closer but North Carolina is a great place to visit! My daughter, Kaitlyn, is our baby. She is a passionate, amazing young lady with a work ethic I wish I had! Kaitlyn is 28 and has her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from the Health Science Center at Texas Tech. She works as an occupational therapist in the school system in Nashville. Teaching is in her blood so she is able to take her creative talents and apply them to her job. She and Ian have two cats,  Maui and Crush. Ian is my son-in-law. He picked my daughter so immediately you know he has great taste! Ian is an all around wonderful guy. We are lucky to have him in our family! He is extremely talented and works in music production. He put together the funny rap for me you can listen to on this web page.

Bill and I are empty nesters but we have two rescue dogs. Romeo is a 140 pound Great Pyrenees! Nico is a 20 pound terrier mix! They are best buddies! We also have a lovebird named Joe. I love doing crafts,  refinishing furniture, reading and taking photographs. Bill and I have been on mission trips to the Amazon nine times! We LOVE going there to serve the people. We have also served in Cuba as well. We love traveling, especially to beach destinations!

If you ask anyone, teaching is my passion! I LOVE coming up with new and creative lessons that engage the students. My goal is to make learning FUN!! We will work hard in third grade, but we also play hard as well! I am super excited for this school year!
