     Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Sommer Johnson and I will be starting my 7th year teaching Kinder! I am happy to be back at Mary Evans Elementary this year!  I absolutely love to teach and so excited to meet and spend this year with your child!
       
        Here is a little bit about me: I moved to Allen in 1993 where I attended 1st-6th grade at Vaughan Elementary, 2 years at Ford Middle School, Lowery Freshman, and graduated from Allen High school! GO Eagles! I then went on to receive my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4th at the University of North Texas.  I also have a supplemental ESL certification added to my certifications. Allen has been my home for 25 years and I am so thrilled to be teaching in such a great district where I grew up as a child! I am married to my husband Christian and we have a sweet puggle named, "Zoey," who is spoiled as can be! We welcomed our daughter Jayde into this world in January and enjoy being parents and this new adventure as a family!!
     
       In my spare time I like to snuggle my daughter, create things for my classroom, go out to eat, watch movies, and walking  through Target with a Starbucks in hand! ;) Thank you again for trusting me to be your child's teacher this year. I am looking forward to watching your child grow!
