• Exploring with Rubik's Cubes!

    Collaborate to explore and discover ways to unlock the world-famous Rubik's Cube through Vaughan's Rubik's Cube Club! Vaughan teachers will also be given the opportunity to engage students in motivating lessons which are aligned to several math and STEM standards. Help us support students with a growth mindset, while developing their critical thinking, grit, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • If Pottery Could Talk

    Students will be faced with situations in which they must use their critical thinking and problem solving skills to foster creativity through artistic products.  Art appreciation will be practiced in class by observing and analyzing masterpieces of Ancient Greece. Students will evaluate their own work as well as the work of others to find unique uses of design elements and mediums.

  • LEGO Brain POWER!

    LEGO Brain POWER is designed to focus upon all subjects and content areas that are taught, as well as a wide variety of TEKS and concepts within our curriculum.   • Maker Space in the Classroom

    The idea behind the Makers Movement includes allowing people to imagine, envision, create, innovate, play, formatively learn, experiment, collaborate, share, and dream of possibilities.   • Rubik to the Rescue!

    Rubik's Cube Education is a great way to teach not only math, but also life lessons and 21st century skills such as focus, following directions, memorization, sequencing, problem solving, critical thinking, and perseverance.   • Unlock Learning!

    Unlock Learning through an immersive gaming experience that allows educators to engage learners of all ages! Using locks, invisible markers/UV flashlights, timers, safes, locked boxes, etc. along with teacher created content, story lines, puzzles, and codes, students must grapple with puzzles and challenges in order to unlock their learning as well as the physical locks. These breakout challenges allow students to improve these skills, while also learning required content.

  • Wiggle It Just a Little Bit

    GATE students use ergonomic Hokki stools daily in order to "Wiggle It Just a Little Bit."  These stools allow for flexible seating and easy movement around the classroom.  Students and teachers agree this is the perfect answer for a busy classroom.
