  • Building Math Muscle Through Reading for Relevancy and Gaming

    Scholastic Math relates math to the students in an engaging way and also includes practice problems. Reading and solving relevant and real-world math problems together will build the students' stamina and confidence in a subject that many find intimidating and daunting, and will build camaraderie, confidence and social skills.

  • Daily Math Fluency

    The Daily Math Fluency Kits will provide lessons for Marion teachers to lead students in learning flexible math strategies in an engaging and challenging format. Through the use of the Daily Math Fluency Kits, all students will have access to learning and mastering math skills.

  • Empower students through hands on centers

    The youngest Story Falcons are in need of hands on Math Fluency Center kits. Using the purchased Math Fluency Center kits allows students the independence of learning through hands on exploring and investigation. These kits will help encourage students to work collaboratively, encourage purposeful talk, and incorporate flexible thinking and explaining.

  • FUNdamental Small Math Groups!

    Small math group instruction is FUNdamental to our success! This grant allows for the purchase of engaging, self checking math activities that students will use during small group instruction. These activities will target math skills such as visual representation of fractions, equivalent fractions, multiple operation fluency, measurement, and time.

  • Hands on Equations

    Hands-On Equation kits will provide concrete experiences for sixth grade students to balance and solve algebraic equations in an engaging and challenging format. Through the use of the kits all students will have access to learning and mastering basic algebraic equations.

    This grant will incorporate the use of manipulatives to help students finally master the concept of re-arranging and solving equations/inequalities. The Hands-On Equations made by Borenson will help low performing 8th grade students finally make the connection on how to solve equations/inequalities and prepare them for high school math.

  • Interactive Math Intervention

    Interactive Math Intervention provides teachers in grades K-5 interactive, engaging activities to use during tutoring and small group instruction. All students will benefit from these activities, but they will be most powerful for students who struggle in math because the activities will grab students' interest and have them practicing difficult concepts in interactive ways.
