General Information About Dual Credit at Allen High School
Dual Credit and Concurrent Credit for High School Students:
Allen ISD and Collin College have a partnership which allows students enrolled at Allen High School to take courses at Collin College for both high school and college credit.Dual Credit vs. Concurrent Credit:
Dual Credit - College course earns both high school and college credit at the same time. High school approval is required.
Concurrent Credit - College course is used to earn college credit only. High school approval is required.
Transferring College Credit:
College credit will transfer to most colleges or universities. Please visit Collin College's TransferU for more information. See the "(TCCNS) Check Course Equivalencies with other Institutions in Texas" tab located on the top right side of the website. Students are advised to contact the admissions offices for the colleges they are applying to and verify if the credits will be accepted. Students should also confirm if the college just awards credit or if they use the student's grade(s) earned to start a GPA at the university upon enrollment.
Dual Credit Information:
