Creating Kind Kids
Second Step is a program based on social-emotional learning (SEL) that helps transform schools into supportive, successful learning environments uniquely equipped to encourage children to thrive. This grant goes towards purchasing extra kits for Marion's 1st grade level, ensuring that each child is an active participant in this SEL curriculum.

Marion Kindness Club
The Marion Kindness Club is a group created to foster empathy and compassion, to encourage caring for one another, and recognize simple and extraordinary acts of kindness. Kindness Ambassadors will create a positive ripple in Marion's culture and community, teaching other students about kindness and empathy to their classmates.

This grant allowed Rountree to create a mindfulness room, which gives students or staff access to a calming environment and provides students with alternative strategies to develop their social and emotional skills.
